A Practical Guide to Sharing Team Videos With Players and Families
Choose the audience for team recordings, test link access, explain viewing expectations, and plan corrections and permission changes.

Sharing team videos works best when the intended audience, access method, and publication expectations are clear. A public season recap and an internal practice recording should not automatically follow the same process. Decide who should see the material before sending the first link.
Classify the recording
Use practical categories such as public, approved team viewers, and coaching staff. Check the organization's recording and publication rules, and follow its process for participant or guardian permissions where applicable. These categories are a workflow aid; they are not a substitute for the actual access controls of the chosen platform.
Be especially careful with footage that includes children, medical discussions, personal contact information, or private conversations. Record the intended use and an appropriate contact route for concerns or correction requests. When in doubt about a particular recording, consult the organization's responsible person before publication.
Test what a shared link really permits
Do not assume “unlisted” means access is restricted to your team. Check the host's current documentation and test the link with a signed-out browser or a separate viewer account as appropriate. If only approved users should have access, confirm what authentication and permission controls actually do.
Ask a trusted tester to try the normal viewer path. Can they find the recording, understand any sign-in requirement, and play it on a phone? Can a person without the intended permission open the same material? Keep testing focused on your own authorized accounts and recordings.
Send a useful viewing message
Include the teams or session name, date, format, link, and any coverage limitation. Explain the expected access without promising controls the platform does not provide. A short message might say: “Saturday's full replay is available at this link. The opening two minutes were not recorded. Please use the team's approved sharing process.”
Avoid sending multiple versions without labels. If a corrected export replaces an older one, update the library index and tell viewers which link is current. Keep a full replay separate from a highlights selection so families do not mistake one for the other.
Plan changes and departures
Decide who handles access changes when volunteers or players leave. Review shared accounts and links periodically using the platform's supported tools. Keep a clear process for responding to removal requests and for determining whether archived copies may be retained.
The right workflow depends on the service and the material. Verify Pargo TV's current capabilities through the platform and plan information, rather than assuming every access option is available on every plan.
